Netflix treated the popular sci-fi manga Spriggan to an impressive anime adaptation. But when can we expect news about Season 2?
The anime series is based on the Spriggan manga by Hiroshi Takashige and Ryōji Minagawa, originally published between 1989 and 1996. Produced by David Production, the anime launched on Netflix in 2022. With only six episodes, the first season is relatively short, so it’s no surprise fans are eagerly awaiting a continuation.
The Plot of the Series
Long ago, an advanced civilization existed on Earth, which eventually perished but left behind numerous artifacts and a Hebrew message. This message warned that their creations should be destroyed if no peaceful use for them could be found.
Years later, national governments and paramilitary groups race to recover these ancient artifacts. This technology seems to have supernatural powers that, if misused, could lead to disaster.
To protect these treasures, the ARCAM Corporation deploys its elite agents, known as “Spriggan.” Yu Ominae, a brave and fearless Spriggan equipped with ARCAM’s most powerful suit, fights to safeguard this dangerous legacy and protect the world from the villains, cyborgs, and mercenaries seeking power.
Spriggan on Netflix: Will There Be a Season 2?
Season 2 of Spriggan is eagerly anticipated, but Netflix has yet to announce a continuation. This leaves the future uncertain, and while rumors are swirling online, they should be taken with caution.
If Netflix releases any news about the series returning, we’ll update this article accordingly. The chances of more episodes, however, are looking positive: the first season ended on a cliffhanger, and the manga spans 11 volumes, of which only part has been adapted so far.
