Elliot’s (portrayed by Rami Malek) motto in the celebrated cyber thriller series is straightforward yet impactful: Trust no one, not even yourself. By day, Elliot works as a security expert for a prestigious IT company, while by night, he battles as a freelance hacker in the cyber realm against the forces of perceived malevolence.
Now tasked with digitally assaulting a major corporation for the group led by a mysterious stranger, the same entity he’s meant to safeguard in his daytime role, Elliot finds the boundaries between right and wrong, reality and insanity gradually blurring. Will Mr. Robot be renewed for a 5th season?
Can we anticipate a 5th season of Mr. Robot?
Since its inception in 2015, Mr. Robot has amassed a dedicated fanbase. Both critics and fans have generally received the series well, with satisfactory viewership numbers and even a Golden Globe win for Best Drama Series in 2016.
So, why the delay in announcing Season 5? After all, the last season aired in 2019. The explanation is quite straightforward: The story of Mr. Robot concluded with its fourth season. According to showrunner Sam Esmail, there won’t be a 5th season.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the series’ creator stated that he and his team “hold too much respect for Elliot’s journey to extend it beyond its inevitable conclusion.” Picking up from the neatly wrapped end of the last episode with new installments wouldn’t do justice to the drama series.
If you’d like to revisit the previous seasons, you can do so on Amazon Prime Video, where the entire series is available. Plus, the streaming service offers a complimentary 30-day trial period.
