Why Season 3 might be delayed
The Made in Abyss anime follows the manga of the same name by Akihito Tsukushi. The production studio works with the available manga chapters. The problem: the series has already adapted most of the comic book source material. Before it can be continued, new chapters need to be released.
Looking at Tsukushi’s previous release schedule, it could be several more years before enough chapters are available for Season 3.
