The American series Legacies, with a total of four seasons, has built a dedicated fanbase. But what about a possible Season 5 – will the story continue?
As a direct spin-off of The Originals, which itself is based on Vampire Diaries, Legacies quickly won over many fans. At its heart is a new generation of supernatural beings, including vampires, werewolves, witches, and fairies. Despite its success, a fifth season has yet to be confirmed.
What Is Legacies About?
This The Originals spin-off centers on the next generation of supernatural beings in Mystic Falls. Two years after the events of The Originals, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson, the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson, begins her time at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Alongside Alaric Saltzman’s twins, Lizzie and Josie, other young beings with special powers grow up at this unique boarding school.
These young vampires, werewolves, witches, and fairies must learn to find their own paths – either as the heroes they aspire to be or as monsters, as their heritage might suggest.
Legacies: Is There Hope for Season 5?
Unfortunately, fans will have to do without a continuation, as the network The CW has officially confirmed that Legacies will end after the fourth season. The reasons for this decision are complex. For one, viewership dropped significantly over the years: the fourth season had 36 percent fewer viewers than the previous one.
Additionally, The CW entered sales negotiations, leading to the cancellation of several series projects, including Legacies and Batwoman. As a result, the story had to come to an early close. However, the four seasons of Legacies remain available on Amazon Prime Video.
