The story is set in the year 2071, when mysterious monsters known as Aragami have nearly destroyed Japan. In response, the government founded the organization Fenrir to fight the Aragami using special weapons called God Arcs. The fighters who take on this task are known as God Eaters, including the main character, Lenka Utsugi.
