The animated video game adaptation reached a spectacular conclusion with its fourth season. But is there still hope for Castlevania Season 5?
Since 2017, Castlevania has captivated viewers on Netflix. The anime series, based on the iconic video game series, was so well received that four seasons were produced. At the heart of the story are Trevor Belmont, the mage Sypha, and the half-vampire Alucard, who join forces to battle Dracula, his followers, and other dark forces.
Will there be Castlevania Season 5?
For four seasons, fans were able to follow the thrilling adventures of Castlevania. The series has impressed audiences worldwide with its gripping story, deep characters, and stunning animation, receiving positive reviews and commercial success.
However, there won’t be a fifth season. The story has reached its conclusion: Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard have defeated evil and found peace. Netflix confirmed before the fourth season aired that it would be the final one. But this doesn’t mark the end of the Castlevania universe.

What’s next for the series?
Although we have to say goodbye to the well-known heroes and villains, there’s good news. Instead of a fifth season, a spin-off titled Castlevania: Nocturne was released in September 2023. This series takes place years after the events of the original story and introduces new characters, including Richter Belmont, the son of Trevor Belmont.
Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, a dark conflict unfolds: while society is in turmoil, an even greater danger threatens humanity. More and more vampires are spreading fear and terror, serving the vampire queen Erzsebet Báthory, who, according to prophecy, is destined to rule the world. To prevent this, Richter teams up with the mage Maria, who is determined to fight both the French nobility and the vampiric elite.
They are joined by Annette, a magic user and former vampire slave from the Caribbean, as well as the opera singer Edouard. Their circle also includes the mentor Tera and the vampire Olrox, who was responsible for the death of Richter’s mother but must now ally with his arch-enemy to prevent Erzsebet’s reign.
