Like No Game No Life, Btooom! is one of many works by Studio Madhouse that hasn’t received a continuation. The first season was released over ten years ago, and some fans are still holding out hope for more. However, the chances are rather slim.
No Plans for Btooom! Season 2
After the first season ended in winter 2012, there was little news about the series for a long time. In 2017, the mobile game Btooom! Online was released for Android and iOS. The producer announced that a second season would be made if the game reached the top 5 in the app sales charts.
Unfortunately, this goal was never achieved, and the plans for a second season were put on hold. Whether there will be another chance for a continuation in the future remains uncertain. Given that the last sign of life from the series was six years ago, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too high.

Manga Continues the Story
Btooom! follows the story of Ryota Sakamoto, a guy who’s pretty unsuccessful in real life but ranks among the top players in the game “Btooom!” When he suddenly wakes up on a tropical island with no memory, he realizes the game has become a deadly reality.
While the anime ends after 12 episodes, the story continues in the manga. If you want to pick up where the anime left off, start reading from chapter 50 or volume nine. The English version of the manga is available on Amazon.
