It’s been over ten years since the first season of Black Bullet aired, and fans are still wondering: Will there ever be a Season 2?
Set in a grim future where humanity is on the brink of extinction due to the terrifying Gastrea, the last survivors live in heavily guarded districts scattered across Japan.
At the center of it all is Rentarou, a student at Magata High School and a member of Civil Security. Alongside his partner and friends, he faces this deadly threat head-on. One day, they receive a high-stakes mission from the government: Tokyo is on the verge of being wiped out. It’s up to Civil Security to stop the destruction – something fans had hoped to see unfold in a second season. But how likely is that now?
Is There Still Hope for Black Bullet Season 2?
Unfortunately, things aren’t looking promising. Since the end of the first season in 2014, there’s been no official word on a continuation. Neither the studios behind it, Kinema Citrus and Orange, nor author Shiden Kanzaki or the Light Novel publisher have announced anything about a sequel.
And with more than a decade gone by, the chances of a comeback are slim. While the anime hasn’t been officially marked as finished, which leaves a sliver of hope, it’s honestly not very likely that we’ll see a second season.
