B: The Beginning is a gripping crime drama on Netflix that already consists of two seasons. The question on many fans’ minds now is: Will there be a Season 3, and if so, when might it be released?
Anime seem to be gaining an increasingly significant presence on Netflix. A few years ago, the streaming provider teamed up with Japanese animation studios to create in-house productions. One of these is the crime drama B: The Beginning, which was even extended with a second season in March 2021.
Over time, the anime series has garnered a small but loyal fan base. This fanbase now eagerly awaits the continuation of the gripping story. But what about B: The Beginning Season 3? Has the sequel been confirmed at all?
About the Netflix anime
In a dystopian future, scientists attempt to push the boundaries of what is humanly possible. However, just before completing their project, they are abducted by a secret organization. Subsequently, a mysterious serial killer emerges, leaving a message after each mission: “B”. Detective Keith Flick resumes his duty and follows the trail, unaware of what he’s getting into.
B: The Beginning – When can we expect Season 3?
In March 2021, Netflix extended B: The Beginning with a second season comprising a total of six episodes. Since then, things have been quiet around the anime drama. While there are numerous fans wishing for a Season 3, no continuation has been confirmed by the streaming platform or the producers.
The future of the series is uncertain. Unfortunately, there is no manga source for fans to read and find out how the story unfolds. The only new material available is an artbook from Studio Production I.G, allowing fans to peek behind the scenes of the anime production through unpublished sketches.
Should we assume that B: The Beginning will not be continued? Not necessarily. After all, three years passed between the release of the first two seasons. However, the release of the second season is only two and a half years ago. A possible Season 3, perhaps in 2024, is therefore feasible.
