What is Akatsuki no Yona about?
The series Akatsuki no Yona: Yona of the Dawn follows Yona, the sole princess of the Kingdom of Kouka. She leads a life of luxury in the royal palace, surrounded by her father, the king, her loyal servant Hak, and her great love, Soo-won.
But everything changes drastically on her 16th birthday. When Yona plans to tell her father about her feelings for Soo-won, she discovers that Soo-won has already murdered him in an attempt to seize the throne. With Hak’s help, Yona manages to escape and finds refuge in Hak’s home village.
Following the advice of Hak’s grandfather, they seek out the monk Ik-soo, who tells them the legend of the first king of Kouka and the four dragons. Determined to save her kingdom, Yona and Hak set out on a journey to find the four legendary dragons.
